3. Using Sssim Studio [Basic]

3.4 Simulation using the Contents Browser

In addition to operations using the Simulation Controller, the Sssim Studio program has a "Contents Browser" on the left side of the Control Window for operating Solar System Simulator easily as if you were browsing the Internet. Once you have learnt how to operate Solar System Simulator using the Simulation Controller, you will be able to perform simulation operations quite easily. Often, complicated operations using the mouse and keyboard will prove difficult when operating Solar System Simulator for an actual audience. In this case, you will find it convenient to use the Contents Browser because its flexible GUI provides only a few buttons you may need in each situation.

Sometimes the Contents Browser will not be displayed according to the interface layout. To display the Contents Browser, choose View -> Browser Control layout, View -> Browser layout, or View -> Simulation Control layout.

1) Customizing the Contents Browser

As the "Contents Page" shown by the Contents Browser can be described in HTML embedded with control commands for Solar System Simulator, once you have understood the specifications, you can create your own contents pages and place them on an Internet website. This means that you can create your own astronomy contents introducing the latest interface and astronomical phenomena according to your convenience, show and share these with other users on the Internet.

2) Using the Contents Browser

The Contents Browser is very simple to use. Click on the links and buttons on the Contents Browser to control Solar System Simulator. The address of the current contents page is displayed at the top of the Contents Browser. Enter the desired address here to jump directly to the contents page on the Internet. For local contents pages in your PC, enter the file path or choose File -> Open File…to specify and open the desired HTML file. Like the web browser, the buttons on the left of the address are for navigation, i.e. returning to the previous page or going to the next page ([<] / [>]), re-reading ([R]), stop loading ([X]), returning to the first page ([H]), etc. You can also add the current page to Bookmark (Favorite) using the Bookmark popup menu so that you can call it directly in the future. Experience the many functions of Solar System Simulator while trying out the content pages installed with the program.
